hell yes da phish has returned an so hasn’t the dfg
Even though I had already bought tickets, I actually won tickets from a radio station contest on 93.9 wcyy.
CYY as its called around these part is actually an alternative station that never played any phish, (and if you called and requested phish, you would promptly be called a stupid hippy and be hung up on).
So you can see my surprise when they announced their phish ticket contest, the rules where simple all you had to do it write them and e-mail saying why you deserve the tickets more than anyone else.
Thinking I had no chance to win really i sent this 3 simple line email reply;
I KICK ASS
CYY KICKS ASS
I PROMISED my girlfriend we could go to the concert and now if we don’t SHE IS GOING TO KICK MY ASS.
A few days later i got the call, I hadn’t won the big prize which i believe was a back stage pass, but i was overjoyed now i could sell my tickets and use the extra money for BEER.
I know all of my hundreds of thousand of readers are wondering when my next post is coming
the answer is soon.
My real life has been suprisingly good latley and haven’t had much time for the internets
My love for phish first started in 1994. It was in a smoky basement, by smokey i mean all kinds of smoke. The “concept album” rift, was on repeat. If I remember correctly which i might not, I believe that summer or fall day in 1994 was the first and last time “I smoked my self straight”. But it was only the beginning of My Journey of all things Phish!
I am not really sure why I never went to a phish show before the Lemon Wheel, although most of my friends did. However, I am pretty sure it had something to do with my mommy not letting my go at the time. ( I wasn’t always as awesome as I am today).
Next On DFG’s daily thoughts, The Lemon Wheel (Part 1)
I know the title is daily thoughts by dfg, but I have already missed a day not a great start, but then again i have a tendency to be a slow starter.
Anyway, I wanted to give you a preview of my up and coming features.
My wonder wife Heather has put together a scrap book together of all our phish memories “pictures, newspaper clippings, set lists, ticket stubs” I have started the process of digitizing it and when its done it will be fucking awesome.
Now for daily “thoughts”
What did the mamma saw “ME” and Julio doing down by the school yard?
Also Scott (from work) if you are reading this next time you wash the coffee cup rinse the fucking soap out of it!!!!!!
and for no real reason at all check this out
My Memories are Foggy of this night being so long ago but I though I would share what was a magical night with you.
